BUILDER CAPTAIN: Ryland Homes
Ryland Homes raised $9,800 to allow the Foundation to install a curved-stair glide at the bi-level home of Yuiry Glushko. An automobile accident paralyzed Yuiry from the waist down. Yuiry’s wife and young son were anxious to see him come home from Craig Hospital. Adding to that anxiety was the fact that the couple had a new baby on the way. Ryland Homes remodeled the master bathroom providing accessibility for Yuiry. Accessible Systems installed the stair glide. The Glushko family has since welcomed a baby girl and Yuiry is beginning to walk with the assistance of crutches.

BUILDER CAPTAIN: Palace Construction
Karen Keith has a large family, with eleven people still living in the family home. Karen suffers from multiple sclerosis and gets around her home in a power chair. She could not get her wheelchair into the small bathroom in her home and she had great difficulty maneuvering around the kitchen to cook for her family. Palace Construction completely gutted the kitchen and created a beautiful new accessible kitchen for Karen. They also enlarged the bathroom, adding a roll-in shower. The family was overwhelmed and Karen is thrilled with how easy it is now to cook in her new kitchen.

BUILDER CAPTAIN: Sheffield Homes
The Holaday family was also a beneficiary of the Sheffield team. Chris Holaday suffers from multiple sclerosis and his daughter Kayla is autistic. The Holaday home was very small, paramedics could barely get Chris down the hallway and he was unable to access the only bathroom without a great deal of assistance. The only option was to create an addition to the home, where the carport had been. This was a huge undertaking by Sheffield and its vendors. Chris now enjoys a large bedroom with a wonderful accessible bathroom. Sheffield also went the extra mile and added a laundry room, giving the family a dining area in the kitchen. Jason even purchased the Sheffield playhouse from the 2007 Parade of Homes and donated it to the Holaday girls. Tiffany and Kayla have dinner in the playhouse every chance they get.

BUILDER CAPTAIN: Sheffield Homes
Chris Holaday suffers from multiple sclerosis and his daughter Kayla is autistic. The Holaday home was very small, paramedics could barely get Chris down the hallway and he was unable to access the only bathroom without a great deal of assistance. After Joe Bruno and Jason Gordon assessed the 930 square foot home, the only option was to create an addition to the home, where the carport had been. This was a huge undertaking by Sheffield and its vendors. Chris now enjoys a large bedroom with a wonderful accessible bathroom. Sheffield also went the extra mile and added a laundry room, giving the family a dining area in the kitchen. Tiffany and her sister Kayla were surprised with designer touches added to their bedrooms. Jason even purchased the Sheffield playhouse from the 2007 Parade of Homes and donated it to the Holaday girls. Tiffany and Kayla have dinner in the playhouse every chance they get. The Holaday family is forever grateful to the remarkable giving of Sheffield Homes.

BUILDER CAPTAIN: Taylor Morrison Homes
The team from Taylor Morrison Homes is a repeat builder captain for the Foundation. Yvonne Moss was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1988. She lives alone and cannot get into the shower without assistance. A large roll-in shower and roll-under vanity was installed for Yvonne. Many of the walls in the hallway and bedroom were wrecked due to Yvonne’s wheelchair, so drywall was repaired and the employees ---- who usually don’t get the option to work in the field -- painted the interior of Yvonne’s home.

BUILDER CAPTAIN: Oakwood Homes
Lucy and George Cook live in an Oakwood home in the Green Valley Ranch subdivision and applied to the Foundation for a remodel of their bathroom. Since the family lives in an Oakwood Home, Cindy called on them for assistance. Frank Walker knows what the Foundation does and readily accepted this project. Oakwood Homes converted a shower so that Lucy can get into the shower much easier. They also removed a portion of the vanity to allow Lucy much more independence in her home.

BUILDER CAPTAIN: Classic Homeworks
Steve Hutchins suffers from multiple sclerosis has only one arm and is in a wheelchair. His wife, Tina, is a caregiver to him and their daughter, Jennifer, who has severe development disabilities and lives in the lower level of the family home.
Whenever Steve had to get into his small bathroom it took a great deal of assistance and much difficulty. Classic Homeworks widened the doorway, replaced the bathtub with a roll-in shower, and provided a wall-mounted sink for Steve.
But, they chose to not simply stop there. Classic Homeworks also replaced the shower in the lower level of the home with a bathtub, knowing that taking a bath was one of Jennifer’s greatest enjoyments.

BUILDER CAPTAIN: New Town Builders
Brian Nguyen was injured in a motorcycle accident in June of this year. His family applied to the Foundation as he went through rehabilitation at Craig Hospital. Brian is a college student who lives with his mother. His bedroom had been in the lower level of the family home, but this would have to change when he came home from Craig. New Town built a ramp in the garage and remodeled a small bedroom and half bath to become an accessible bathroom and bedroom on the main level of the home for Brian. Now, Brian is home, independent, and facing his challenges with determination thanks to New Town Builders.
